HERE, WE HAVE THE ENGLISH RULES FOR THE I WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF BAREFOOT RACE. - CTO. DEL MUNDO CARRERA DESCALCISTA DE FONDO

World Championship of Barefoot Race - Oropesa 2017

Free Run in collaboration with the City Council of Oropesa and Provincial Council. Organizes World Championship Barefoot Race in the Municipality of Oropesa del Mar to be held on Sunday 22 OCTOBER 2017 starting at 10:00 a.m., with departure and finish on the beach of Morro de Gos.

Due to the particularity of the event, there will be two tests:

 

Competitive with 10 km (circuit of 2 turns of 5 km).

Check out time: 10.00h.

 

NOT competitive with approximately 5 kms, for those who want to start in the barefoot running, and that can be completed either walking or running.

Departure time: 10.05h

In both cases, the surface is considered suitable for walking / running barefoot without major difficulties, since the circuit is mostly beach sand and also asphalt, wood and concrete.

In addition, there will be a child initiation test, for any child who wants to participate, which will be held before the previous tests:

Departure time: 9: 45h

Distance: 500m. Approx.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The first World Championship Barefoot Race is open to any athlete in the world. Therefore, regardless of your nationality, you can participate in any of the tests specified above, under the premise of not using any footwear and provided that the established regulations are met.

 

REGISTRATION

The inscriptions will be managed through the web www.free-run.es from June 23. Also in person at the Free Run store (C / Musico Perfecto Artola 10-Castellón).

To make the registration, it will be necessary to enter the mandatory data indicated by the website; Those incomplete inscriptions will not be considered. Athletes who have federative licenses must also indicate this.

Entries will be accepted until Wednesday, October 18, 2017. After this date, and if there are places available, they can register the same day of the test by paying the corresponding amount.

Registration fee for both tests (5 km and 10 km):

From  June 1º to  September, 15, 2017: 10 euros

From September 16 to October 5, 2017: 12 euros

From 5 October until the day of the test (if there are places available): 15 euros

* Registration for the career of children is free (prior registration on the Web)

The delivery of numbers will be made on the day of the test from 9.00 to 9.45 in the start race zone.

 

CATEGORIES

The following categories are established for both men and women only for the competitive test, being considered as valid the age of the current year, regardless of the one on the day of the test:

 

Absolute: From 16 to 39 years (from 1978 to 1996)

Veterans: 40 to 54 years (1977 to 1963)

Master: From 55 years on (1962 and earlier)

For the non-competitive race, there will be a single classification for the male participants and another for the female, without differentiating categories or ages (children or adults).

In turn, in this test, may take part of runners of any age, recommending that children under 14 years are accompanied by an adult.

Child proof: There will be a unique category for both boys and girls.

 

AWARDS

 

There will be only trophies in the competitive race, which will be delivered at the end of the test in the Finish area, at approximately 11.15.

The top three finishers of the race, both male and female, will be awarded the trophy.

In addition, a trophy will be awarded to the top 3 ranked teams in each veteran and master category. The prizes will NOT be accumulative.

Nevertheless, the results will be published according to the real categories, independent of the trophies that are delivered.

Likewise, a gift will be given for all the participants (of both tests): technical shirt and bag of the corridor to the participants who finish the test.

For the child race, the gifts and prizes that the organization can obtain will be awarded.

 

CIRCUIT

The circuit will consist, approximately 5kms, that runs along the beach of Oropesa and adjacent walks.

Therefore, for the competitive race must be given twice, with a total of 10 km.

For the non-competitive test, the race will consist of ONLY one lap, with approximately 5 Kms.

Surfaces: beach sand (mostly) asphalt, wood and concrete, without technical difficulty.

 

The route will be fully signposted indicating each Km. There will be a water point in the middle of the circuit.

 

CAREER CONTROL.

The competitive race will have a time limit of 1 h and 15 minutes, closing goal at 11:15.

The non-competitive race will have a time limit of 60 minutes, closing the target for this test at 11:05.

Any person who runs without being registered or exceeds the time limit of the test, will do so under his responsibility.

Any athlete who does not wear the fully deployed buckle and in its proper place, will not be disqualified, does not carry out the whole course, provides false information and / or does not comply with the rules of these regulations or indications and requirements of the organization.

As these races are completely disqualified, participants will not be accepted in the exit that use any type of footwear, sock or element that supposes to cover the foot in its plants.

Those runners who in the course of the race choose to fit in some way will not be disqualified, but in the classification they will move to a separate category and will have no option to trophies.

Any claim submitted must be delivered to the Organization in writing and no later than half an hour after the end of the test, accompanied by a deposit of € 100, which will be returned in the event of a claim.

 

OTHER PROVISIONS

The only vehicles authorized to follow the test will be those designated by the Organization, which may remove any vehicle outside the route, advising if necessary to law enforcement.

The medical and ambulance service will be located in the vicinity of the exit / goal area and midway, available to athletes who need it.

The medical team shall have the authority to withdraw any participant when it considers that their health is in danger.

 

FINAL PROVISIONS

All athletes registered in WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF BAREFOOT RACE (in any of the two tests), are covered by insurance:

Civil Liability Insurance of the Organization.

Accident and Civil Liability Insurance for non-federated athletes.

Federated athletes are covered by the corresponding Athletics Federation Insurance.

The organization reserves the right to modify any organizational aspect or of the route, even to suspend the test, if it is considered that the circumstances so require. However, it will not be stopped under any circumstances once it has been issued.

The organization declines all responsibility for the damages that the participation in this test may cause or cause itself by the fact of running barefoot or other actions or derive from it to any participant.

All participants, due to the fact of taking the exit, accept the present regulation, renounce all rights and claims against the organizers and collaborators, as well as their representatives and delegates, arising from the damages that may be caused in the competition.

Likewise, the fact of the inscription entails the declaration by the participant of being physically fit, sufficiently trained to finish the test in which they are enrolled, in good condition and have checked their state of health by an authorized means.

Finally, all participants, public and companions give permission to the indicated authorities and / or organization to advertise their presence in the race, provided that it is for legitimate purposes.
